Pol Roger Portfolio has strengthened its California wine offering with the addition of two new Napa Valley estates – Tor Wines and Kinsman Eades – to its stable.
The Napa pair joined Pol Roger Portfolio, which turns 30 this year, at the beginning of the year, and will sit alongside fellow California estates Abreu, Gallica, Robert Sinskey Vineyards and Staglin Family Vineyard, within the portfolio.
Pol believes that Tor and Kinsman Eades “bring a unique and complementary character” to the existing Napa wines represented by the company.
Kinsman Eades was founded by Nigel and Shae Kinsman in 2016. Keen to make site specific wines that show off their origins, Kinsman’s wines are fruit led and characterful. “They celebrate the interesting edges rather than polishing them away,” said a spokesperson for Pol Roger Portfolio.
Tor Wines was founded by Tor Kenward, who has worked alongside some of the top names in California wine, including Robert Mondavi, André Tchelistcheff and Warren Winiarski.
The winery focuses on minimum intervention single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Bordeaux varieties bottled in small quantities. Determined to let the land speak, Kenward’s wines are all unfiltered and unfined.
“We are delighted to strengthen our range of exceptional Californian wines and representation of great family-owned wine producers with the addition of the brilliant wines from Kinsman Eades and Tor Wines,” said James Simpson MW, managing director of Pol Roger Portfolio.
“These wines will be available to taste for the first time at the Pol Roger Portfolio tasting on 24 March in London,” he added.
